Reverend HB Horn, Jr.

Pastor HB Horn, Jr. was educated in Corsicana, Texas where he graduated from the historical G. W. Jackson High School.  He continued his education and received an AAS degree from Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.  He then proceeded to the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas to acquire his Bachelor of Science Degree.  He later acquired his Masters of Business Administration Degree from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.  He is currently working on his Doctoral Degree from the Trinity College of the Bible Theological Seminary, located in Newburgh, Indiana.  Reverend Horn has many other earned certifications and awards, too many to mention over the period of his career.
Reverend Horn's religious foundation was established at a very early age in the city of Corsicana under his late leader, Pastor W. N. Taylor.  He later served in Corsicana under Pastor F. G. Taylor before he proceeded to college in Denton, Texas where he and his wife (Gwendolyn Joyce Horn) united with Dr. S. E. Mitchell at St. Andrew COGIC.

Reverend Horn accepted his divine calling in San Angelo, Texas where he received his ministerial license in 1976 under Pastor W. T. Hickman at Alexander Temple COGIC.  The Lord moved Reverend Horn and his family back to Denton, Texas in 1977.  In 1978, he became an Ordained Elder and was shortly thereafter appointed as the Assistant Pastor of the late great legend Dr. S.E. Mitchell.  Reverend Horn served under Pastor Mitchell until his demise in 1986.  Reverend Horn then served as the Assistant Pastor to Bishop J. Neaul Haynes while he pastored at St. Andrew COGIC in Denton from 1986 to 1989.  Reverend Horn then proceeded to yield again to the call of God and began worshipping with Supt. F. G. Taylor at Heavenly Gospel COGIC in Ft. Worth, Texas.  Soon afterwards, he became the Assistant Pastor to Supt. Taylor for a period of 9 years.  On October 13, 2002, Bishop J. Neaul Haynes appointed him to a higher calling as the Pastor of one of the most historical and notable churches in Dallas, (Greater Mt. Calvary COGIC).

As an Assistant Pastor, Reverend Horn has served under some of the greatest men of leadership in the COGIC Incorporated for over a period of 25 years.  A wealth of experience and knowledge was acquired under these great men of God.  Reverend Horn has expressed his honor and appreciation to God for allowing him to sit under the feet of such great leaders.

Reverend Horn has literally served in every capacity that the local church has to offer.  In addition to pastoring, he is currently serving as the Oak Cliff District Secretary under the leadership of Supt. R.L. Williams, Sr.

Reverend Horn is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Toastmasters of America, Clean Up South Dallas Committee, South Dallas Ministerial Alliance and a host of other local community organizations.
